Dr. Alexandra Coleman is living her dream. She helps people every day, living and working in the communities she's known since her childhood. Her dental practice, The Smile Studio, offers a full studio of services aside from dentistry to include comprehensive facial aesthetics: Botox, dermal fillers, Kybella and so much more. You grew up in Alpharetta and returned to establish your practice in Crabapple. We love a hometown story! Tell us about your journey.
I was born and raised in Alpharetta and graduated in 2012 from Georgia College and State University where I majored in biological sciences and minored in chemistry. I then moved to "horse country" Lexington, Kentucky, where I completed my Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree at the University of Kentucky. Go Cats! I spent an additional year continuing my education in an endodontic fellowship program where I gained experience in treating complex endodontic cases.
Before I started dental school I knew I wanted to come back to serve the community where I was born and raised. I found a spot in downtown Crabapple and fought hard for it when I could envision my future practice in this small town square! How cute is downtown Crabapple? Everyone has welcomed us with open arms and we are so lucky to be part of such an incredible community!

If you have ever been to our office you know that our office manager Mickayla runs the show! She is really the brains behind the whole operation. But we are a small team and every single person is critical. My assistant Jessica is my right hand... and sometimes my left! She can anticipate what I need before I even know I need it! Kimberly, our hygienist, is the newest member of the team. She is typically the first one you will see as a new patient and is a wonderful start to your journey with the Smile Studio!

What new tools or techniques are you excited about for patients right now?
We have 3D X-rays at our office which is so amazing! It helps us see things from a totally different perspective. We are able to find things that we previously would not have been able to diagnose with 2D X-rays. This new technology also helps us better detect problems before they become symptomatic.
