The team prioritizes ensuring every individual feels genuinely seen and heard. With all physicians board-certified in emergency medicine, patients typically spend 20 to 40 minutes with their doctor, far more time than most emergency departments provide. Wait times are usually 10 minutes or less, allowing patients to see medical staff promptly. On-site testing and imaging mean results are often available within an hour, enabling timely and informed diagnoses and referrals.
Red River is considered a micro-hospital. If a patient needs longer observation, IV fluids, or medication, Red River provides 24/7 emergency care and a limited range of inpatient services in a smaller, more personal facility than a traditional hospital. The hospital has four state-of-the-art, bright, and airy rooms staffed by a medical team.
Outpatient lab work and imaging are also offered with flexible scheduling, fast turnaround times, and a streamlined testing process designed to deliver the answers patients need quickly.
Since opening just a year ago, Red River ER and Hospital has already had a positive impact on the Sherman and Denison communities. Taylor Poteet actively participates in the Chamber of Commerce and helps lead the hospital’s efforts to support and sponsor community events, including the Christmas Parade, health fairs, and lunches for first responders. Red River ER and Hospital also proudly supports both Sherman ISD and Denison ISD football and cheer teams, provides snacks and lunches for teachers, and sponsors a treat cart for educators. Additionally, the team created and distributed custom T-shirts for both Sherman and Denison for the 128th Battle of the Ax.
