If I have learned anything about living in Gilbert, it has been that the small business owners truly are the people behind the curtain that keep the community growing and thriving. Behind the scenes of their business doors, I often meet with Gilbert entrepreneurs that have not only one, but multiple businesses, large families, and on top of that are typically heavily involved with a local nonprofit lifting up those that need just a little extra assistance. They are not just business leaders but community leaders.
Gilbert's community leaders have many different temperaments and styles. Some leaders are more demonstrative while others lead quietly but command respect. Yet there are a few common threads among successful leaders. They must possess empathy, the ability to inspire, strong communication skills and pride in their community. Community leaders are problem solvers who involve all members of their teams. They get people to work together toward a common goal. They focus on building effectiveness – the ability to get things done.
Over the next few months, Gilbert City Lifestyle hopes to introduce you to some of these local businesses owners that are not only getting it done at their businesses but impacting our community in big ways. We hope that you will meet someone new. Please reach out to learn more about them on their social media, and please continue to live and love local by choosing to shop with our locally owned businesses.
