Born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area, Travis Gabriel speaks about floristry the way others speak about calling or craft. “I was always drawn to people first,” he says. “Flowers became the language I use to connect, to celebrate, and to design moments that matter.” Nearly fifteen years ago, that instinct led him into the floral industry, where artistry and human experience intersect.
In 2020, during a moment of global uncertainty, Gabriel made a defining decision. “The pandemic forced a lot of clarity,” he reflects. “It was the right time to build something intentional.” That leap of faith became Concrete Rose Floral, a studio grounded in resilience, refinement, and a distinctive point of view.
His confidence is backed by depth. Gabriel spent years working alongside leading designers in the region and served as manager of Allan Woods Flowers, accumulating tens of thousands of hours of hands on experience. “That time shaped my standards,” he says. “You learn precision, leadership, and how to execute at a very high level.” His background in wholesale florals further sharpened his expertise, offering a comprehensive understanding of varieties, sourcing, and materials.
When asked what sets Concrete Rose Floral apart, Gabriel is clear. “The experience matters just as much as the flowers,” he explains. “Every project, regardless of scale, deserves care, collaboration, and respect for the client’s vision.”
That philosophy has resonated with an impressive range of partners, including Amazon, Bloomberg, the Executive Office of the President, Marriott, MAC Cosmetics, BET, José Andrés Restaurant Group, Fabio Trabocchi Restaurant Group, and the Washington International Horse Show, among others.
“Flowers are fleeting,” Gabriel says. “But the way people feel in those moments stays with them. That’s what we design for.”
