After years of working in the restaurant industry, Lucas Frye began dreaming up what a place of his own would look like. Along the way, Lucas linked up with Joe Compana and began planning a space of his own. Three years later, the perfect location opened up in downtown Colorado Springs. From the start, they knew Cork & Cask would be a whiskey-and-wine focused space, however, they also offer an outstanding selection of local craft beer.
Walking past cozy outdoor fireplaces, through the threshold, you’re greeted with elaborate chandeliers and tall-backed chairs wrapped in velvet. Sitting down at a quaint table for two or with a large table of friends, both settings are enticing and comfortable. Topped with kind staff and a menu where all needs tried, this before and after dinner spot should be a staple in your repertoire.
The space not only adds a fabulous drink and tasting menu to our city, inclusive of my favorite pretzels and cheese sauce in town, but it contributes to the aligned goals of so many restaurateurs that now call downtown their home. We love this. Cork & Cask makes it easy to nestle in for a while any day of the week between 3 pm and 1 am.
