Ingredients
- 2-3 bone-in chicken breasts
- 2 quarts broth
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup milk
Directions
1. On low heat, in a crockpot, cook chicken for 5-6 hours. Keep the broth.
2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, softened butter, milk, and some broth from the crockpot. Mix it all together well.
3. Dust counter with a generous amount of flour. Roll the dough out to about 1/4" thickness. Add more flour as necessary to keep from sticking underneath or to rolling pin. Using a knife or a pizza cutter, start cutting out dumplings into squares.
3. Bring 2 quarts of chicken broth to a boil. Add shredded chicken and begin adding dumplings one at a time. Season to taste. Stir frequently. Allow dumplings to cook and broth to thicken for 15-20 minutes.
