Becky Sagen’s Journey from Theater to DIY Coach

Originally from New York City, Becky Sagen moved to Dripping Springs in 2020. With a professional background as a theater technician, her myriad talents included carpentry, structural design, welding, painting, fiberglass, and more. Her business SagenWorks launched after locals sought her to fill a niche demand: DIY coaching.

“People start DIY projects because they thought it would be easy. It’s always more complicated than you initially thought. Allow yourself extra time and be kind to yourself,” Sagen shares. “It’s so empowering when you learn to build something. I help make that learning curve less steep.”

With her arsenal of tools, Sagen gives the option of taking on the project herself or providing personalized guidance as a coach, leading clients through the process from start to finish.

Sagen has a passion for teaching and tackling challenges on creative projects. “Theater taught me to problem-solve constantly and brainstorm things never done before.” She adds,  “Want a slide from one side of your house to the other? No ideas are impossible. Let’s take your ‘wacky’ ideas and run with it.”

“There are so many benefits to working with your hands and knowing at the completion, with pride, you made that. Seeing my clients impressed with themselves drives me.”
