Rosi's Bridal Studio

Get a Custom Look That's Far from "Customary"

Aida Mejia, owner of Rosi’s Bridal Studio in Ho-Ho-Kus always loved to sketch. Although life’s journey led her to a degree in Finance, Aida fell back to her original passion and began to hone her skills in design and fabric selection. She now collaborates with seamstress Lorraine Freeman to create custom looks for brides and their moms in addition to carrying designer lines such as Pronovias, Desiree Hartsock, and Omelie. The talented duo can also customize dresses that are in stock and personalize certain aspects of the design to suit the tastes of any client. Some clients love a particular dress but would prefer different sleeves or a different neckline. Working with Rosi's makes these types of alterations a "seamless" process! "We can customize any dress to fit and flatter you," says Lorraine.

Rosi’s offers unique, individualized service to all of their clients. “We work with one bride at a time, so she and her mom and guests get the store to themselves and our full attention during the appointment,” says Aida. “It’s all about the experience.”

Aida enjoys working with her clients to help them find their “dream” gown. When designing for a bride or mother of the bride, she encourages them to understand and express what styles, fabrics, and designs truly speak to their individual personalities.  “I love seeing women when they put on the right dress. It's a great feeling to just take a step back and soak in that moment!”

Aida’s Shopping Tips

Don’t overwhelm yourself. Vet the bridal shops you are working with and only visit 2-3. Don’t lose your sense of what you love from too much social media or the opinions of friends or relatives.

Limit the number of dresses you try on. When one speaks to you, that’s usually the one that you love. Don’t set your heart on one specific look. Keep an open mind. I have seen brides and moms come in with one thing in mind, and fall in love with a completely different look.

When deciding upon the elements of a custom gown, be sure to express what styles, fabrics, and designs truly speak to your individual personality.
