The groundwork for Dumont Construction was laid in 2016. Brian, who was already active in construction, was ready for a new endeavor. So, he teamed up with his father-in-law Larry, who had just retired from a 30-year career with AT&T. Pooling their strengths, they developed a business to build original houses that feel like private sanctuaries.
Brian holds a degree in construction management and oversees the building process and all client communication. Larry brings decades of project management experience to direct company operations.

One of her favorite spaces is the primary bedroom. At first glance, someone may think they’ve stumbled upon a cabin retreat. A dramatic, hazy photograph of bison grazing in Yellowstone National Park rests above the bed, set against the warm urban bronze walls. Large sliding glass doors open to a private balcony, bridging the cozy interior to a dazzling view of the dense forest.
“Dumont has excellent craftsmanship and is not afraid to do something different to really stretch themselves,” Amy says. “That can be hard to find in this industry, and it really shows in this beautiful lake house.”
Building someone’s home is deeply personal, which means Larry and Brian first forge a bond with the client to get a complete picture of who they are and what they want.
Once plans are finalized, Larry and Brian meet with the homeowner and design team to review the blueprints, necessary materials and any potential hurdles.
