Tips to creating a cozy space to have some me time

The kids are home from school.  You and your husband are now both working from home. There's a lot of tension that can build up in a short amount of time being stuck inside.  This is such unusual place for Arizonans to be in the spring. Creating a space to get away from your hectic life is essential for maintaining a healthy headspace.  Your family and work have their own spaces in the house. Why not create a Zen Zone for yourself? If you’re anything like me the best way to unwind after a hectic day is a good book and a fuzzy blanket. Here are some easy decorating ideas that will help you turn your space into the ultimate cozy at home vacation.

Self Care Tips:

1.  Read one chapter of a book a night: Routine is important it is easy to let days pass without doing anything productive. Making a point to read a chapter of a book a night both distracts and calms your brain. 

2. Do Some Yoga: Get up and stretch. This will increase blood flow to your brain and the rest of the body. 

3. Mindful Meditation: Take a minute to disconnect from everything. No phone, no T.V.  just a moment of focusing on your breathing. You can download guided meditations if you need to quite your brain. 

4. Do something just for you: Make yourself a cup of tea, watch your favorite movie, give yourself a gift. It can be easy to forget about our needs especially when you have kids take time to listen to what you want.
