So maybe you had to cancel your Caribbean cruise this year and are looking for a way to replace it. Why not try your hand at some of the traditional foods you may have tried on an excursion in Cuba? Below are some delicious Cuban recipes you can learn how to make yourself!

How to Make Croquetas

"No visit to a Cuban bakery is complete without sampling the croquetas - freshly made and sprinkled with lime juice if possible. A deep fried blend of béchamel sauce and ham, chicken or salt cod, these savory treats hold their own among the teeming trays of glazed guava pastries, sugary cakes, and airy meringues that fill the glass cases. Tucked into a pressed Cubano for lunch, the added crunch transforms the classic sandwich into an unforgettable croqueta preparada."

Classic Cuban-Style Arroz con Pollo

"Growing up, this was the perfect Sunday comfort food meal in my family. Today, arroz con pollo is the ultimate one-pot meal. Think fluffy yellow rice cooked in a tomato-based sauce with veggies and spices and flavorful chicken thighs. YUM!"

Cuban Chicken and Black Bean Quinoa Bowls with Fried Bananas

"Now I realize there are a fair amount of steps to this recipe. Do not let this scare you off. I will not lie, these bowls take a little time, but nothing is that hard and you make them to your liking. I of course would not recommend skimping on even one part of this meal, because I think everything in it is a must. The fried bananas? For sure. The Mangos? Without a doubt. The quinoa? Well, rice would totally work awesome here too, but quinoa gives us protein and whole grains. The chicken? The best."
