It’s no secret that the Eastside is on the rise and driven by the tech industry. Home supply looks to be low for the foreseeable future and move-up buyers or those relocating to the area are looking for short commutes in beautiful neighborhoods with easy access to all the amenities of a core location.  Buyers are looking for more functional indoor and outdoor space, as seen with the trend of more work and study from home.   Toss in our hot real estate market, and it all adds up to a difficult time for buyers to find a home, or build their own custom home.

Enter MN Custom Homes; local home builders that have strategically attained upcoming home inventory that allows buyers a great place to start their home search.  Started by two high school classmates, Shaun McFadden and Joe Naeseth, that connected after college and identified an opportunity to fill the growing new construction need on the Eastside.  They began by building custom homes and have evolved to become the largest residential in-fill developers in Washington State. Several years ago, they recognized the market’s desire to personalize new spec homes and responded by creating the MN Presales Program. Buyers can now purchase a home during construction and tailor finishes to their personal preference. It’s the best combination of a custom and spec build leaving only the “fun selections” without the hassle of finding land, identifying a general contractor, and making hundreds of tedious decisions.  Their MN Presales Program allows buyers to work directly with their internal interior designers to craft and personalize each home with distinct and contemporary features.

Aside from home building, MN Custom Homes desires to make a meaningful impact in our community.  They’ve been partnered with local non-profit Jubilee REACH for the last five years as they serve our families in need and at-risk youth in our Schools.   In addition, they’ve partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 10 trees for every home they sell, that’s over 2,300 trees in local PNW forests, along with special environmental rehabilitation projects right here on the Eastside through Arbor Day’s partnership through their Tree City USA program. Combine that the latest smart home features, energy efficient appliances and recycling almost every part of the homes that were previously on the home sites, MN Custom Homes aims to leave a positive impact in our neighborhoods, and a lasting impact on our local environment.

Trending to a more edgy yet timeless look, modern home styles allow for floor to ceiling windows to allow for natural light and beg for “wow” features to be showcased throughout the house.

Taking the edge off a modern design by blending more traditional shallow gabled roofline and stone entry columns. Blended exterior design provides additional flexibility with interior finishes.

Bridle Trail residents, Andrea Strafford and Philip Massey, tell us their favorite customized features of their new MN Custom home:

1. All the tile in various rooms. It gives the rooms personality. The ones we curated for our home complement our overall European Farmhouse style.

2. The Quartzite countertops in the Kitchen and Butler’s pantry. It is a natural stone with gorgeous patterns and color variations that doubles as a piece of art.

3. The Blanco SILGRANIT Apron Front Farmhouse Sink, in Coal Black. Obsessed with the color pop it adds to kitchen, and most importantly it is heat, scratch, stain resistant, has a nonporous surface so it is food-safe and easy to clean, ultra-durable and is made in North America.

4. The custom bench cushions for the Breakfast Nook and the Mud Room. We had fun curating the perfect fabric for those.

5. The European White Oak flooring throughout the home.

6. The Kitchen Island color is green. This is our color that is represented in various finishes within the core rooms of the home. It adds an element of Biophilia to the home.
