From Cypress Skits to Silver Screens

Between Voicing Linus and Starring in Record-Breaking Iron Lung, Isaac McKee is Living the Dream

At just 10 years old, Cypress resident Isaac McKee is already living the dream that most aspiring actors spend a lifetime chasing. He's the voice of Linus in the beloved Peanuts franchise, he's appeared on red carpets alongside A-list celebrities, and his face has been on movie screens in over 4,100 theaters worldwide. But the journey to Hollywood success started right here at home—with a YouTube channel, a green screen, and three brothers who just wanted to have fun. "Isaac first discovered his passion for acting when he was 4 years old," recalls his father, Ryan McKee. "He and his brothers wanted to create a YouTube show where they could do skits, play games, do science experiments, and visit cool places like museums and aquariums."

What started as family fun became intensive training. The McKee family bought equipment, learned video editing, and reached out to local Houston venues. The kids learned to interview people and speak confidently on camera. "It was during this time that Isaac fell in love with movie-making magic and performing," Ryan says. "When he was 7, Isaac began to ask mom and dad if he could start acting 'for real.'"

The family found a photo of Isaac for his first headshot and started submitting him for local TV commercials. He quickly began booking roles for businesses like Exclusive Furniture, iFly, Mercedes Benz of Sugarland, and a Texas-based law firm. Soon after, he landed lead roles in national commercials for InsureKidsNow.gov, a program administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the On the Border restaurant chain. As Isaac's roles grew, the family enrolled him in an intensive eight-month program at Page Parkes School of Modeling and Acting in Houston.

To prepare for Agent Review, an exclusive showcase for top talent agents, Isaac went door to door in his Cypress neighborhood, performing his monologue on front porches for families and asking for feedback. His dedication paid off. "During Agent Review Isaac received offers to sign with top talent agencies in nearly every major U.S. market," Ryan says.

Isaac's biggest role is voicing Linus van Pelt in the Peanuts franchise. "When we found out that Isaac had been cast as Linus, we were sitting at one of his theater performances at Stageworks in Houston," Ryan remembers. "It was so hard to wait until after the play to tell him the exciting news."

After auditioning for both Linus and Charlie Brown, Isaac was chosen for Linus, the philosophical best friend who's never without his security blanket. He recorded over 100 lines for the video game Snoopy and the Great Mystery Club and voiced Linus for the 2025 American Greetings Peanuts Advent Calendar, which was wildly popular this past Christmas.

Nothing could have prepared the McKee family for the whirlwind success of Iron Lung, a sci-fi horror film in which Isaac plays a supporting role. The independent film, written and directed by Mark Fischbach (better known as Markiplier, one of YouTube's biggest stars), was originally slated for a limited release in just 60 theaters. Due to overwhelming demand, it expanded to over 4,100 theaters worldwide. On opening day, Iron Lung was the number one movie in America. "When we found out the film had expanded to a worldwide release, Isaac was thrilled," Ryan says. "This would be the first time his face would appear on movie screens all over the world."

The response on social media was overwhelming. "The first week the movie was out, Isaac's Instagram page was inundated with hundreds of new followers and one post receiving nearly half a million views and 50,000 likes," Ryan says. "Isaac said he feels really blessed that fans have been so welcoming and kind."

Isaac was invited to attend the 56th NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles as a guest of director Princella Smith for the Oscar-qualified animated short film Walk in the Light. "Seeing Isaac step onto the red carpet for the first time and pose for cameras was surreal," Ryan says. "He introduced himself to reporters and talked about the film as if he had done it a million times."

At the nominees' dinner, Isaac sought out celebrities including Marlon Wayans, Aldis Hodge, Kym Whitley, and Yvette Nicole Brown. "They were all wonderful and spent lots of time visiting with Isaac, signing his autograph book and giving him career advice," Ryan says.

Isaac's biggest pinch-me moment came when he sat on a panel between Gil Birmingham from Yellowstone and Kym Whitley. "To see Gil, an absolute legend, hand the microphone to Isaac was surreal," Ryan says. "After Isaac brought down the house with his answer, Gil joked he would just let Isaac speak for him from now on."

Despite the glamour, Isaac remains grounded in his Cypress community. He attends school full-time and is heavily involved in community theater at Stageworks in Houston. Beth Tamez, his agent at Page Parkes Texas, describes Isaac as "a passionate and driven actor whose natural talent and genuine character shine both on screen and in his everyday life. His dedication and enthusiasm reflect a bright future and a meaningful connection to the community that supports him."

Managing a burgeoning acting career while being a typical 10-year-old requires careful balance. "Isaac has gotten very good at managing his time," Ryan explains. "If he knows he has auditions over a weekend, he plans so he can still have time to have a friend over or play video games."

There are sacrifices. Last year, Isaac was shooting a commercial on Halloween and missed trick-or-treating with friends. But the Cypress community came through. "A few days later his friends dressed up again and invited Isaac to go trick or treating," Ryan says. "Neighbors even saved candy so Isaac could still have that experience."

Isaac continues to pursue guest star and recurring roles in TV and film, with the ultimate goal of landing a starring role in a feature film. He's appeared in Nickelodeon's Wonder Pets in the City on Apple TV+ and has booked lead roles in national commercials for brands like Academy Sports and Outdoors. He now has agents in each major U.S. talent market and a manager in Los Angeles.

From a 4-year-old with a green screen in his Cypress home to a 10-year-old working alongside Hollywood legends, Isaac McKee's story is a testament to talent, hard work, and family support. As Ryan puts it: "Isaac is just as excited and determined today as he was 2 years ago." For this Cypress kid, the sky—or perhaps the silver screen—is the limit.
