That includes Crossroads Gym, just north of the city, which the Mesa County Health Department gave a five-star variance award. They have a wide-ranging program and a family-friendly environment, including childcare.

Climbing Gyms

Can you picture the High Desert city of Grand Junction being without a climbing gym with all that beautiful mountain range screaming climb me? Me neither!

There is, however, only one rock climbing gym serving the general public at Western slope. The operators do not mind because they have the wherewithal to meet the needs of all climbing enthusiasts. 

Grand Valley Climbing

The rock-climbing gym in the Grand Valley also doubles as a bouldering gym. It is an indoor fitness center situated south of Western Colorado Community College and east of the US Post Office Distribution Center in Grand Junction.

If you are looking to tackle the Rockies or another mountain range soon, it would be wise to get some gym rock climbing exercise done first. Even professional climbers go to the gyms to strengthen their arms, torso and legs.

The more practice you get in, the less likely it is that you'll fall or have any type of incident. Climbing gyms like to change up the routes very often to give climbers both a physical and mental challenge, which is great since there are always uncertainties when it comes to mother nature.

Boxing Gym

There are five Boxing gyms in Grand Junction and they come with skilled trainers, quality equipment and clean facilities.

The boxing gyms are all West or Northwest of downtown Grand Junction. If boxing is your go-to work out session or you'd like to train professionally, you'll have to take a hike towards the section of Redland Canal off-Broadway where there's one boxing gym or 24 ½ to 25 ½ Roads, where three boxing gyms are in proximity.

Most Grand Valley boxing gyms have both adult and kids programs available. Boxing helps to improve balance, posture, hand-eye coordination, alertness, mood and endurance, all while strengthening the upper-body and core.

Crossfit Gyms

Whichever section of town you are, there's a crossfit gym not too far away waiting for you. There are seven crossfit gyms in the vicinity.

If you're downtown, there's a gym on S 7th St and another on S 8th Street near the fire department. There's another beside the Regional Center and if you're all the way northwest of the city close to the Mesa Mall or above Highway 70 near the regional airport you'll have access to two crossfit gyms. They all have excellent ratings.

If you are new to crossfit, it is important that you schedule a consultation first since it involves multiple work out programs that are quite intense.

MMA Gyms

Five MMA gyms in that are ready to help you learn some self-defense skills or get you fit. Whatever workout you desire, they'll come with competent coaches, some award-winning, to help you reach your full potential or unleash some skills you didn't know you have. 

Overall, the gyms in Grand Junction are very welcoming, and they come with highly skilled coaches.

While climbing is limited, everything else is available in multiple areas. The climbing gym is worth the drive if you plan to hit the Rockies soon. Every gym offers day passes and gym memberships, most with no contracts.
