Finding stuff to do in Augusta is as easy as stopping downtown and admiring the beautiful structures or going on the famous Riverwalk. Augusta is in proximity to South Carolina and has so many exhibits displaying its rich history, including the home of a former president.

Fun Things to Do in Augusta, GA

Ride in a boat, kayak, or canoe along the river.

Go to Stars and Strikes for bowling and tons of arcade games. 

Things to do in Augusta with Kids

Take the entire family, including toddlers, to Pendleton King Park, a large bird sanctuary. You get to partake in various recreational activities, including a children's exploration play area, an 18-hole golf course, tennis, nature trails, and picnic areas. Don't forget your camera.

Putt-Putt Golf & Games is an excellent experience for you and your toddlers.

There is a wide array of things to do with your family, including kayaking, indoor jungle, gym, nature walks, and even gaze at the stars—so many fun activities along the river.

Visit the Imagination Station Children's Museum, which offers hands-on activities for small children.

Young adults can enjoy an evening at Van Gogh and Vino sipping and painting. Since it's all adults, everyone can let their hair down.

2nd City Distilling Co. is great to grab a drink and be entertained after dinner. 

Andretti's indoor karting and games are the ideal fun activity for teenagers living in or visiting the city. So, get those teenagers out of bed or off the gadgets by only mentioning Andretti, and they'll love you for it.

This 100,000-square-foot activity center involves gaming, karting, rock climbing, laser tag, plus more, and it is all indoors. You can dine there as well, so it's a one-stop-shop for fun and food that adults can enjoy too. 

Tiny Towne will be loved by small kids and teenagers alike as they test their driving skills at this indoor facility. It's a safe and fun experience.

Free and Cheap Things to do for those with a Shoestring Budget

Some Inexpensive things to do in Augusta include watching the beautiful wildlife at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park, visit the museums downtown, and visit the historic Sacred Heart Cultural Center  with its breathtaking architecture. 

It's free to tour the Augusta Canal as well, and it can be cheap fun for the entire family or a couple hanging out.

Westobou Gallery is free even when there's a festival there.

Activities in Downtown Augusta

In downtown Augusta, the arguably best activity is the Riverwalk, which spans 6th to 10th streets. The two-level walk area has multiple attractions and entertainment to the beautiful Japanese Gardens. There are many activities every day.

Visit one or all of three museums. The Morris Museum of Art, Augusta Museum of History, and the Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History lets you delve into the rich past and artistry of the city.

Visit President Woodrow's childhood home

Tour historic downtown Augusta and admire some fantastic 19th-century architecture and get to check out the interior of some.

Go shopping and dining at a high-end store in Augusta Mall, one of Georgia's top malls, and take a photo at the giant fountain. 

Check out the statue of music legend James Brown and take a pic.

Things to Do in Augusta at Night

If you need somewhere to go tonight, Le Chat Noir has improv comedy that will leave you laughing like crazy. Arts In the Heart of Augusta is an annual fine arts festival that can double as a romantic evening.GTC Riverwatch Cinemas has all the latest movies and is an excellent way to hang out. Bowling at Northside Lanes never gets old. Visit one of several concert theaters to take in a live orchestra or a live show.  Enjoy some good beer at Riverwatch Brewing after a stroll on the Riverwalk. 

Looking for Romance? Couples Things to Do

Have a romantic evening out at Abel Brown's restaurant and oyster bar for a new twist to New Orleans's inspired cuisine. The decor is unique and beautiful. 

Watching a performance at one of the theaters after a lovely dinner is a great couple's evening out.

Dress up and go fine dining at Frog Hollow restaurant for the best delectable meals paired with a great wine or watch the waiter stylishly and skillfully prepare your cocktail.

Indoor/Outdoor Things to Do

Augusta Canal National Heritage Area offers a lovely canal tour that you can walk or bike along or travel by kayak or canoe. Go fishing afterward and look out for wildfire. You have the option of a cargo boat tour as well.  

Learn pottery making at Tire City Potters, whether you love clay or not. It's an enjoyable experience. There are multiple golf club options outdoors. Top Golf offers both an indoor and outdoor experience. 

Cloudy Skies: Things to Do When it Rains

With Augusta's weather being very unpredictable, it's a good thing that the city has scores of exciting places indoors. 

Head to Augusta Candle Co., where you can curate and hand pour a beautiful candle that's your very own. Browse the more than 100 pure fragrance oils to create a custom fragrance to mix with the all-natural soy wax.

Catch a show at or take a tour of the Imperial Theatre, a staple of downtown Augusta since 1918. History buffs won't want to miss the Ezekiel Harris House, which was built in 1797 and gives visitors an idea of daily life during the Federal Period in Georgia.
