Dallas Art Maestro

Meet JD Miller, Co-Founder of Samuel Lynne Galleries

A little over twenty years ago, JD Miller began exploring the world of oil painting. He'd always been drawn to artistic pursuits - he studied pottery and sculpture during university before moving into a successful career as a professional musician. But once he discovered oil painting, he realized he'd found his true calling. JD developed the 3-Dimensional oil technique through which he conveyed his joy in the miracle of creation, as well as his sense of freedom and the synchronicity of the universe.

In 2001, JD founded Reflectionism, an art philosophy grounded in Asian mindfulness and meditation. He felt inspired to create a space dedicated to an extremely select group of artists who bring unique messages to the contemporary art world. As a result, JD's vision came to life in 2008 in the form of Samuel Lynne Galleries, created in partnership with entrepreneur Phil Romano.

Since then, JD has received a number of accolades, including being named the Official Artist for the 40th Anniversary of Shakespeare Dallas and serving as the official fine art provider for the Hampton Classic Horse Show. JD remains committed to never falling into complacency and always improving upon his craft.

Samuel Lynne Galleries rotates a variety of exciting art exhibitions throughout each calendar year. One thing that doesn't change, though, is the annual Valentine's Day Live Painting. McShan Florists donates a beautiful flower arrangement, and JD Miller recreates it in oil paint in real time, using the energy of the crowd to express joy and gratitude.
