“Dance is the hidden language of the soul.”

Holiday Dance Studio

Holiday Dance Studio is one of a kind dance studio. They have a lot of things happening all the time. They are not just a dance school – they are a place to come dancing. The events give the public a chance to dress up and dance in a venue that is not a bar or a nightclub. They teach partnership dancing, but that does not mean you have to be in a relationship to take partnership dance lessons or to be at the parties. One of their long-time members, Jacinto Sanchez, says, “I remember a couple of years ago after dropping my sons off back to their mother in Texas, I was very depressed. I was at a restaurant, and I saw in the paper that Holiday Dance Studio was hosting a Friday night dance. I remember feeling anxious about going but after calling and talking with my battle buddy Scott, he encouraged me to give it a try. I immediately felt that I found my people. The owners' Joey and Tanith Hudson were so welcoming and there were some other Veterans there too. I have been going there for more than three years. It is more than a hobby, it is a safe place where I can focus on other things, like getting my footwork down for a Foxtrot, Tango, or Waltz, and enjoy dancing with my lovely friends. Dancing is very grounding; it forces me to be very present.”

When you walk into the studio, you aren’t going to see the typical “dance studio.” They are not geared toward competition, instead, they focus on the social aspect of dance. They know there are plenty of people that want to learn to dance for that reason. They want to create a place you want to BE when you’re dancing, not a place where you learn to beat everyone in a dance competition. Jill, a resident member states, “My husband and I had no experience dancing, but we wanted to dance at an upcoming wedding. Holiday Dance Studio turned out to be the perfect fit for us. They work really well with people who don't think of themselves as dancers, but who want to learn how to dance socially in a fun environment. The teachers are super patient! Learning to dance together has changed the way my husband and I think about ourselves and our relationship.”

Holiday Dance Studio hosts Friday Night Parties each week that feature music, dancing, and hors d’oeuvres. They host a themed party once a month and the studio atmosphere is festive and elegant. The place gets decked out for whatever theme is the focus of the month – elegant masquerade balls, decade parties, murder mysteries, Victorian winter balls, afternoon Tea Dances – they go big! And of course, there is always plenty of dancing, laughter, and revelry!

When the studio is not throwing dance parties, it holds group classes Monday through Thursday and private lessons are scheduled by appointment.  Practice time is also encouraged during open business hours. They offer an introductory package which gives the member an opportunity to really see how the studio works and when these four components of learning to dance – private lessons, group classes, Friday Parties and practice time – are used together, then learning to dance becomes fun, productive and rewarding!  Bruce says, “As a husband who has never danced, I was totally out of my element. The owner and instructors have been awesome in getting me into the dance scene. The private instruction is done in a stress-free environment and the group classes are taught to the lowest members' level ensuring no one is left behind. Dance floors are comfortable and easy on your feet. The Friday evening dances are fun and allows for practice on what you have learned.” The team at Holiday Dance Studio truly focuses on creating an environment in which their members can feel free to enjoy dance.  Another long-time member Jeremey, states, “The first time that I walked into Holiday Dance Studio, I was greeted with open arms, positive attitudes, and bright smiles, not just by the staff but by other students as well. This atmosphere along with the instructors’ knowledge, encouragement, and patience makes the studio special.”

If you are looking for a great place to learn to dance, whether it is for a wedding, for a cruise, to spice up things up in your life or to celebrate the end of the week in a festive, elegant, and welcoming atmosphere, look no further than Holiday Dance Studio. Their mission statement is, “Learn to dance with anyone, anywhere, anytime while having a roaring good time!” And they celebrate - they make the world a better place by fostering a love of dance.
