Dear Jane Green

Jane Green is a storyteller, a source of wisdom for so many, and an ever-flowing well where laughter originates behind twinkling eyes. Vulnerable and real. Hyper intelligent and prolific, her creative force is felt by all who know her. The beauty of her ability is the bravery to explore something new and different for each iteration of her work. There are artists who use their craft to approach variations of the same topic over and over again, but Jane is not one of them. Her books sell like wildfire. Each stands on its own. She’s not the kind of human one could call formulaic.

Jane moved from England–with her beloved accent in tow—to the States, and then everywhere. All around the world is typical, a Bohemian goddess is in the making. Currently nesting in a breathtakingly beautiful rock-and-roll riad in Marrakech, she’s also exploring a cobblestone lane in London. She’s had many lives and cats, and will likely have many more. She’s an incredible culinary talent and names her soups after people. Her eye for design or the right word extends to every art form. A mother to six and a listener whose carefully considered response we all want to hear. Jane’s fault is that she is too fun and too hard to say goodbye to. It’s because ultimately all who know her, crave being around her light and want to be there to see where she shines it next.

Last month's cover story, on HealthyBaby Founder Shazi Visram, included a letter penned by acclaimed author Jane Green about her friend Shazi. This month, Shazi wanted to return the favor: here is her piece about her friend, Jane.
