When volunteers noticed seniors sharing their food with their four-legged companions, they launched the AniMeals Program, delivering dog and cat food so no neighbor has to choose between their own nutrition and their pet’s. Recognizing mobility challenges, they also provide free, reliable transportation for medical visits and essential errands. They even deliver birthday presents, free books to read and often borrow board games to play with seniors. For both volunteers and seniors their visit is often the highlight of their day.
They also store emergency 7-day meal kits—packed with shelf-stable food, flashlights, and waterproof document pouches—ensuring seniors remain safe during Texas disasters.
