Ross Dental Studio in Prosper strives to bring confident, healthy smiles to each patient that walks through the doors. Newly opened in July, the studio is the vision of Dr. JaTerra Ross, offering dentistry that "rewrites the script of how people view going to the dentist."

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Ross chose a career in dentistry to help eliminate the fear and anxiety that are often associated with going to the dentist. She earned her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from Southern Illinois University in 2009. After five years as a dental hygienist, Dr. Ross felt she could offer more to her patients and pursued her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and graduated cum laude from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in June 2019. Before moving to Texas last year, Dr. Ross was a dental associate in Missouri.
Using her own experiences with dental anxiety, Dr. Ross says she's created a place where patients feel safe and relaxed, and where pressure-free dentistry is combined with technology and artistry. Dr. Ross’s goal is to be known as the soothing dentist who supports her patients’ oral health goals while educating and guiding them on their path to a healthy lifestyle. She loves being able to talk to her patients and relate to their needs, oral health goals, and soothe their dental fears so they can get the dentistry they need while feeling cared for and supported.
Dr. Ross and her staff work hard to create a fun, positive work environment. She says they treat each patient like family and want to get to know and understand each patient’s needs. "I believe in putting patients first," she adds.
The studio is geared toward making patients feel comfortable. "The patient experience is everything," she asserts.
To help patients feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible, office amenities include a coffee, tea and water beverage station and exam rooms featuring overhead televisions with Netflix and Disney+ and wireless headphones. Soon the office also will offer warm towels and soft blankets.
Ross Dental Studio’s services include preventative dentistry, restorative dentistry, emergency care and teeth whitening. Routine bi-annual dental exams and cleanings help Dr. Ross detect issues early, she says, so action can be taken, saving patients time, money and preventing larger dental issues. Even with excellent care, however, teeth and gums can be susceptible to disease, infection, cavities, cracks, or other forms of damage. This staff offers judgment-free care for patients with every dental need.
Dr. Ross says she stays informed of the quickly evolving dental industry and the latest dental techniques through continuing education courses and is dedicated to learning and bringing the latest technology to her patients. She says their state-of-the-art dental technology helps make a patient’s visit faster, safer and more efficient. Cutting-edge digital dentistry equipment, such as digital scanners, panoramic imaging and intraoral cameras, help Dr. Ross see images in seconds on a computer screen, which can be enlarged to show detail. Digital dentistry uses minimal radiation for the patient’s safety and peace of mind. This technology saves time, because there is no film to develop, and results in less waste to help make the office more environmentally friendly.
Ross Dental Studio offers a comprehensive, affordable membership plan for adults and children, so no one has to sacrifice quality dental care due to financial constraints. For patients 14 years and older, the adult wellness plan is offered for $38 per month. For children 13 years and younger, the child membership plan is offered for $30 per month. Both plans include two exams and cleanings per year, two fluoride treatments per year, all necessary X-rays, one emergency exam per year, and 10% off any additional treatments. Benefits of both membership plans include no yearly maximums, no deductibles, no claim forms, no waiting periods and no one will be denied coverage.
Located at 2111 E. University Drive, Dr. Ross says Prosper is the perfect location for her practice. "I'm excited to be part of the community," she adds.
“I love the background of Prosper, how the town started very small and is welcoming all of this new growth,” says Dr. Ross. “It’s just amazing to see and I want it to be right in the middle of it.”
