“Our industry is a functional industry, but it's also very design-driven,” says Jennifer Homeyer, owner of The Design House, alongside her husband Ty. “Our customers like to dream, touch and feel things that are possible in their own home and we [want] to give them that experience.” The shelves of shining marble and richly colored granite samples against the wall are just a small part of their newly renovated 10,000 sq ft showroom designed to highlight the joy, beauty, and ease that home design can be.
The organization of the showroom is optimal for a user-friendly and shoppable experience that doesn't overwhelm the customer. Brands such as Shaw, Mohawk and Daltile are sectioned into areas for perusing specific elements such as countertops, engineered wood, luxury vinyl plank flooring, carpets, hardware, stunning mosaics and window treatments.
But the largest and most stunning part of the showroom is dedicated to Porcelanosa, a Spanish company specializing in high-quality tiles, mosaics, and bathroom and kitchen solutions. A few years ago, Jennifer and part of her team received the opportunity to travel to Spain with Porcelanosa to see their showroom and source of inspiration. “We fell in love with the people, the culture and the products,” Jennifer says.
