Destination Photography with Shauna & Jordon

Capturing The Love of a Lifetime Near and Far

Destination weddings hold a unique allure, blending romance with adventure against the backdrop of stunning locations. Capturing these moments demands a special skill—a task entrusted to destination wedding photographers Shauna and Jordon. Let's explore the world of these artists, who blend their expertise with a passion for storytelling to celebrate love in some of the world's most picturesque settings.

Husband-and-Wife Duo: Behind the Lens

Shauna and Jordon are a husband-and-wife duo who have been working together since 2017. They have never missed a wedding together. Shauna is the creative director, and Jordon is the project manager. Shauna says that Jordon is the key to their dynamic working, stating, "He is a very special person, ego-free.” They started their journey together working at the same school, where she was an assistant principal and he was a teacher. Their time in the school district helped them build the skillset they still use today, as managing twenty students, parents, and administrative dynamics translates into all the aspects of a wedding, such as timelines, family logistics, and working with vendors. When they are not traveling for work, they are home with their two young boys.

Why Destination Wedding Photography

Weddings blend many of Shauna's passions: photography, travel, art, fashion, and love. Shauna has loved photography since she was ten years old and got her first film camera, which she still uses at weddings today to capture a vintage look alongside her modern cameras. She thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment and still gets emotional on wedding days because she loves love. Shauna shared that during an engagement photoshoot in Italy on a boat, she and Jordon looked at each other and thought about how not long ago, they were still eating sandwiches in the school cafeteria, but now they were doing something they love in an incredible place.

Destinations They Travel

The couple travels both domestically and internationally. From Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards in Virginia, Omni Mount in New Hampshire, and Big Sky Ranch in Montana to Paris, the Amalfi Coast, Capri, and Positano, they have loved exploring the world with their clients.

The Photography Style

Shauna and Jordon’s photography style is a blend of fine art and candid, natural imagery. They aim to create photos that you can hang on your wall as artwork. Their style mixes traditional and classic photography, which provides intentional poses, with documentary-style and art direction, resulting in emotive and natural images. They adapt their range from trendy to traditional, fitting the client’s preferences, and focus on engagement shoots and weddings.

Nationally Recognized in Print

Their hearts sing not only for themselves but also for their couples and the vendors who helped create beautiful weddings when they see their work in print. Shauna still remembers the feeling of fulfillment when they were first featured in Florida Bride, a feeling that remains familiar with each new feature. BRIDES, Over the Moon, The Knot, Carats and Cake, and Inside Weddings are just a few of the publications that have showcased their work. They were recently announced as one of the "Best Wedding Photographers 2024-25" by Loverly, one of their proudest accolades.

The Associate Team

Shauna and Jordon also cherish local work. They have an associate team of about six photographers whom they have handpicked and trained to shoot in their signature style. This team covers weddings all over the Tampa, Sarasota, Naples, and Palm Beach areas, including the Ritz Sarasota, The Ringling, and Selby Gardens. Hiring the associate team offers a lower more affordable price point than booking Shauna and Jordon themselves, while still receiving the signature Shauna and Jordon edit and photography style, ensuring their signature touch for every gallery.

Tips for Taking Photos While Traveling from Shauna & Jordan:

1. Utilize your phone’s 3-second timer and set your phone up on a nearby surface.
2. Just take the photos! You'd rather stop and capture the moment than finish your trip without any memories.
3. Try using a disposable camera, also known as a single-use camera. This makes it quick to take a shot and captures the memory as it was.
