What is your top career lesson?
When you lose your job, don’t let it define you. Don’t get angry, and never burn bridges. Instead, use the moment as an opportunity to focus on you, take time to pursue what you’ve been putting off, whether that’s furthering your education, reconnecting with family, prioritizing your health, traveling, or tackling a passion project. Embrace the time to reflect and decide what YOU want next. Maybe it's time for a bold career change, or perhaps a shift toward a better work-life balance. The world is your oyster at this moment - embrace it.
How do you overcome challenges?
I face them head-on. Challenges are growth opportunities in disguise. By breaking them down into manageable steps and tackling each piece, you develop resilience and gain valuable insights. Reflecting on what you’ve learned, what you’ve overcome, and how you’ve grown from the experience turns obstacles into stepping stones.
What’s one habit or routine that helps you maintain balance and productivity?
List-making!
Starting each day with a to-do list helps me clear my mind, organize my priorities, and create an action plan. Writing things down turns thoughts into tangible goals. Checking items off as I go provides a sense of achievement and momentum to keep moving forward.
Who is your biggest supporter?
My daughter, Chloe. Not only is she my greatest cheerleader, but she’s also my biggest motivation. It’s important for her to see that women can achieve success in their careers, embrace motherhood, and maintain a fulfilling personal life. It requires dedication and hard work, but the reward is immeasurable.
Favorite TV show, book, or podcast?
Wiser Than Me podcast with Julia Louis-Dreyfus. It's insightful, inspiring, and full of wisdom from remarkable women who have paved the way.
"Don’t look back, you’re not going that way."
This is a reminder to focus on the present and future, rather than dwelling on past setbacks or regrets.
Advice for Aspiring Leaders
A great leader is shaped by strong role models. Surround yourself with individuals who inspire you - women, mentors, and organizations that align with your values and aspirations. Be bold, raise your standards, and never settle for less than what you deserve. Empowerment comes from connection and learning from those who’ve paved the way.
