With the holiday hustle and bustle behind us and as we seek to make 2019 the best year yet, we’re going to take a more low-key approach for our dinner and a movie date night this month, starting with a visit to the Hi-Pointe Drive-In.

Only this time, Mike has managed to mix his chef-inspired burgers, sandwiches and salads too, with a nostalgic location that was previously a drive-In back in the '80s. Hi-Pointe Theater/Hi-Pointe Back Lot
Now that your tummy is full, let's venture just a half a block away to catch a newly released film at the HI-POINTE Theatre and/or the HI-POINTE Back Lot!
Sitting just left of the intersection of Clayton Road and Skinker Boulevard on McCausland Avenue is the oldest theater in St. Louis, circa 1922: the Hi-Pointe Theatre.
Featuring new releases that have more of an art house appeal, the Hi-Pointe Theatre provides an "ultimate theater experience" from the minute you walk through its doors, with its retro yet high-end atmosphere.
Plus, if you are looking to experience a more intimate setting to view your next film, then all you need to do is head to the back of the Hi-Pointe Building to catch a film at the Hi-Pointe Back Lot. Created in 2015, the Back Lot theater provides movie-goers with a more exclusive and up-close viewing experience of those much-anticipated new releases. Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster, The Killing of a Sacred Deer) takes us back to 18th-century England, as it seems that a frail yet boisterous Queen Anne (Olivia Colman) doesn’t do a very good job of running the country she reigns. This leaves her confidant and close friend Lady Sarah (Rachel Weisz) to not only govern the country in silence but also care for Anne in her ailing health.
When new servant Abigail (Emma Stone) is asked to stand in for Sarah—the war against the French seems to need her attention more than the queen—Abigail sees an opportunity to fulfill her own dreams, becoming the queen’s constant companion in Sarah’s absence. As Sarah and Abigail become enthralled in proving that each is “what’s best for the queen and her affections,” it seems that Abigail is bound and determined to fulfill her destiny, even if it’s at the cost of those around her.
Rated R for strong sexual content, nudity and language, The Favourite is the perfect date-night film to keep you and your significant other totally entertained.
