A HISTORICAL HOME IN LONDON WITH MANY STORIES TO TELL

When I studied at Fordham University London Centre, I took an art and architecture class that involved many walking tours of various neighborhoods, streets, and museums. One of my favorite tours was at Sir John Soane's Museum, a museum that features one architect's personal art collection in his actual home.

One of the most interesting facts about Sir John Soane is that the design of the famous red telephone boxes all over London was inspired by the tomb he had made for his wife. And there is so much more to learn about him! You can take your own virtual tour on the museum's website.

Explore Soane

Fly through a digital scan of Sir John Soane's Museum on our digital online tour, Explore Soane. Two of the Museum's most famous spaces are currently available to interact with: the Model Room in the Private Apartments, and the Sepulchral Chamber, home of the 3,000-year-old Sarcophagus of Seti I.

Visit Langlands & Bell: Degrees of Truth Online

The Museum's current exhibition, Langlands & Bell: Degrees of Truth, has been re-created as an online exhibition. View a series of online galleries recreating the exhibition, with artworks spanning four decades spread across the floors of the Museum. Ranging from film, video and digital to sculpture, installation and print work, Langlands & Bell’s work has explored the complex web of relationships linking people and architecture and the coded systems of communication and exchange we use to negotiate a fast changing technological world.

We plan to extend the exhibition when the Museum reopens to the public.
