James Tracey has the Fashion Eye-Q

How’s your eyewear fashion IQ? Tracey Sinoway’s is off the charts! She and husband James, both optometrists, founded James Tracey Eye Care over 21 years ago with original locations in Wyckoff and Manhattan. Now, with additional offices in Woodcliff Lake and Midland Park, they have the expertise in eyecare and trending eyewear fashion to serve the discriminating Bergen community.

In addition to providing exams and medical care, Tracey keeps her stock of eyewear on the cutting edge of style. “I buy the frames and meet frequently with sales reps so that we can offer all of the current looks. Our staff loves helping our customers find just the right frame for their faces--we want people to look good! I keep a lot of inventory on hand so that people can see and feel the frames and try them on. Our clients want that--they love good frames of high quality that will last.”

James Tracey also features their own line of frames that offer best-selling looks in a budget-friendly version. The line is perfect for people who like to change their eyewear looks frequently or want a fun and trendy pair of readers.

Throughout the pandemic, customers have been requesting blue light lenses. “We are seeing more people coming in with digital eye strain from working at home on their computers,” says Tracey. “It’s important to filter the UVA and UVB rays from screens to help decrease eye fatigue and strain. Preliminary studies are also indicating a possible increased risk of macular degeneration and interrupted sleep cycles due to it. If you feel like this may be an issue, a pair of blue light lenses to filter those rays are in order.”

In addition to designer eye fashions, James Tracey also provides eye exams, medical eye care, and contact lenses. “We want people to look good,” says Tracey, “I‘ve always enjoyed bringing New York high-fashion styles to our clients in New Jersey."

Eyewear Fashion Tip 2: Eyewear fashion in 2020 will deliver a wide variety of translucent looks along with the ever-popular Ray Ban trends. Hexagon shapes and sunglasses with colored lenses will be trending as well as fun, oversized plastic looks. Dita above, Oliver Peoples below.

Eyewear Fashion Tip 3: Translucent frames by Gucci (top) and Oliver Peoples in neutral colors have been on trend for at least a year and are still going strong this fall.

Eyewear Fashion Tip 4: These Prada frames are darker on the top and lighter at the bottom. They angle up to lift the face and the darker color draws more attention to the eyes.
