Chocolate Mocha Martini
INGREDIENTS
2 oz chocolate liqueur
2 oz coffee liqueur (can sub 2 oz of espresso or coffee)
1 oz vodka
½ ounce half-and-half
DIRECTIONS
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add all ingredients. Shake well. Strain into glass and enjoy! (Optional: rim the glass with chocolate shavings, or add coffee beans or chocolate flakes for a decorative touch.)
Chocolate Mocha Mousse
INGREDIENTS
10 oz semisweet chocolate chips
1½ cups heavy cream
2 tbsp espresso
1 tsp coffee liqueur (can sub 1 tsp vanilla extract)
⅔ cup confectioners’ sugar (sifted)
DIRECTIONS
In a double boiler, melt chocolate. If using a microwave, pause to stir every 30 seconds to prevent chocolate from seizing. Transfer to a large bowl.
Using a mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, beat the cream on medium-high speed until firm peaks form. Gently fold in the espresso and liqueur (or vanilla). Once mixed, very gradually add the sugar to prevent lumps forming.
If needed, beat the mousse mix again to return it to medium peaks, then gently fold the entire mixture into the melted chocolate. Divide the mousse into individual bowls. Cover and refrigerate for two hours before serving. If desired, garnish with chocolate shavings or whipped cream. Dig in!
