Melchior’s journey as an entrepreneur began when she stood in her own closet years ago, eyeing inefficiency and noticing how her elegant gowns pooled to the floor. Fueled by her passion for organization and aesthetics, she set out to revolutionize the way homeowners approach their storage spaces.
Today, Melchior, who lives in Bedminster, takes pride in her attention to clients’ needs and in creating customized solutions to storage challenges. She has built a business with a team of expert designers and an in-house manufacturing facility that allows her to deliver creative, customized and innovative closet and storage solutions.
“Regardless of the available space, storage areas can always be improved by maximizing the space that is not being used,” she says.
To help people understand the possibilities, Melchior creates 3D renderings of the design to show clients over Zoom or in person. Clients can also visit the Bridgewater showroom.
When Melchior approaches a project, she talks to clients about what they desire and assesses variables like how many shoes need to be accommodated and the length of garments to determine the proper hanging and shelving. “We often also design storage for jewelry, like jewelry cabinets with velvet-lined doors and hooks,” she notes.
Melchior caps projects off—as clients wish—with finishing elements like a solid or glass door or dressing table.
“Although there is often a catalyst for these closet design projects—a renovation, new baby or new house—there is no need to wait for a special occasion,” she says. “Upon completion of a project, no matter how large or small, we often hear how life changing their new space is.”
