There's something about a 1931 Ford Model A that stops a man in his tracks. It's not just the chrome or the curves,  it's the story sitting beneath the hood. For Shane and Marie Roy, founders of Gabby Lane Classics, that feeling is exactly the point.

"We didn't start this as a business;  we started it as a love for something real," says Marie Roy. "These cars have history, craftsmanship, and character that you just can't manufacture. When someone sees one of our classics, they feel it. That's what we're sharing."

Gabby Lane Classics is an Arizona-based, family-owned vintage car rental company offering a curated fleet of meticulously preserved vehicles spanning from the 1920s through the 1960s, available for weddings, photoshoots, corporate events, and milestone celebrations. But to call it simply a rental company would be selling it short.

Shane and Marie grew up in families who loved, restored, raced, and showcased classic cars. That inherited passion became the foundation for Gabby Lane Classics, named and built as a tribute to the vehicles and the memories they hold. Every car in their fleet carries its own story, and the Roys take pride in making sure those stories are shared, not just stored in a garage.

"For us, it's never just about the cars," Marie explains. "It's about celebrating moments, honoring heritage, and creating something lasting."

For men who appreciate automotive history, there's real value in understanding what separates a preserved classic from a restored one. Here are a few things worth knowing:

Preservation over restoration. A preserved vehicle retains its original components, paint, interior, and mechanicals. It's rarer and often more historically significant than a restored car, which may have been rebuilt with modern parts.

Know the era. Pre-war cars (1930s) were built with hand-crafted precision and minimal standardization. Post-war classics (1950s) reflect the optimism of the era, bold chrome, sweeping lines, and the birth of American car culture. Each period tells a different story.

Details matter. Emblems, upholstery, glass, and even the smell of a classic car are part of the experience. When evaluating a vehicle or booking one for a special occasion, pay attention to what's original.

Support the keepers. Families and businesses like Gabby Lane Classics are doing the meaningful work of preserving these vehicles and keeping their stories alive. By bringing them into weddings, events, and photo sessions, they continue to be seen, appreciated, and experienced.

Because in the end, these cars aren’t just pieces of history, they’re the kind of detail that elevates a moment and makes photos feel truly unforgettable.
