The End of an Audi R8 Era

We are in the final stages of the R8’s final production model year as Audi will discontinue the R8 model lineup. The R8 has been an iconic representation of the Audi brand for over 15 years.

The model was born from a Le Mans concept vehicle in 2003. Rarely does the concept car translate closely to the actual production vehicle, but the R8 did when it debuted in 2007. The vehicle launched with a potent V-8 mid-engine platform and later evolved to a V-10.

The last of the Audi R8 lineup will be sent off with five configurations, one of which is a limited edition GT Model. Only 333 units will be released worldwide. The GT will be offered exclusively in a rear-wheel drive platform with a naturally aspirated V-10 motor outputting over 600 horsepower. This platform launches the car from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.1 seconds.

The interior of the GT presents a no-nonsense look, with luxury amenities present, but secondary to the sporty functionality. Black and red shower the interior of the vehicle. A sequential number will be the focal point of the center console, letting clients and their passengers know they are one of just a few who get to be a part of this vehicle’s poetic send-off.

Audi Flatirons is excited about the nostalgia of the reincarnated GT but sad for the vehicle’s ultimate departure from production.

The 2023 Audi R8 starts at $158,600. Visit AudiFlatirons.com for availability, as supplies on R8 models are limited
