Bold, flavor-forward cuisine often resonates with men. Think expertly grilled steaks, slow-smoked barbecue, gourmet burgers, and spicy global street food. Hearty comfort fare like chili, ribs, and loaded wings sit alongside refined indulgences such as dry-aged beef, artisanal charcuterie, and rich, savory pastas. It’s a palate drawn to substance, depth, and the primal satisfaction of well-crafted, robust meals. Here are some area award-winning options well worth the visit.

The Market at River Falls
Located in the heart of the Potomac Village Shopping Center, The Market at River Falls is a family-owned and operated neighborhood market that offers a broad range of seafood, produce, prime meats, and prepared foods. Their steaks, lobsters, and crab cakes are always big crowd pleasers.
When possible, The Market sells local products in an effort to support the community. But when the highest quality cuts of meat aren’t available locally, then they go elsewhere. High on their list of best-sellers are USDA prime steaks which they buy from Creek Stone Farms in Kansas. They also sell a special category of steaks called Waygu, from Snake River Farms Waygu in Idaho. The beef is rated according to a system created by the Japanese beef industry. Snake River Farms added to that process by creating a new breed of cattle named American Waygu, making it especially tender and savory. The Market will even season the steaks for customers who request it. An additional enticement: from Father’s Day through July 4th: steaks are offered at a 25 percent discount.
The Market at River Falls is located in 10124 River Road Potomac, MD 20854.
