Having a picnic with your partner is a simple and romantic way to enjoy a meal together in the great outdoors. It's an exciting adventure to plan what to pack and where to set up your blanket! If you're not sure where to start, here's a guide to everything you'll need to have the perfect picnic.
Picnic Basket
You'll need something to carry all your goodies in. Some options are a classic wicker basket, a soft-sided cooler or a picnic backpack.
Blanket
Some picnic basket sets come with a blanket. If not, you'll need something to place on the ground so you can sit down and enjoy your food and drinks.
Charcuterie
Finger foods like cured meat, cheeses, crackers, nuts and fruit are great for picnics! Bring one soft cheese, one hard cheese, salami and/or prosciutto, grapes, almonds, olives, fig jam—anything you like to nibble on.
Wine (Of course!)
If you're having charcuterie and cheese, wine is a must. A bubbly rosé is a lovely choice when the weather is warm, but bring anything that strikes your fancy! If your picnic basket doesn't have a designated spot for a wine bottle, opt for a box of wine instead. Cardboard travels well, and you won't have to worry about broken glass.
