Restaurant Week: Date Night Made Easy

DELICIOUS DINNER DEALS FOR TWO

Article by Alexandra Hicks

Kansas City Restaurant Week is one of my favorites. Restaurants all across the Kansas City metro offer up unique two or three course meals for a great price. Prices typically run at $15 for lunch and $35 for dinner. However, if you look close enough there are several restaurants offering up deals for two. That means for $35 you and your date (or friend, or parent, or co-worker, etc.) can enjoy a three course dinner. Here's a list of participating restaurants offering a meal for two.

Beer Kitchen

This popular Westport joint is offering up a shared appetizer and dessert while each can pick an entree. Each course has at least one vegetarian option too! Pair it with a bottle or Robert Mondavi wine or a couple of beers and you'll be good to go.

Char Bar

Date night, BBQ style. Each couple picks an app and dessert to share and their own entree. You'll just have to make the ultimate decision: smoked Oreo cheesecake or Butterfinger chiffon pie?

The Homesteader Cafe

Go for comforting and cozy with a shared menu featuring locally sourced foods. Choose an app to share or go for soups and salads before dining on your own entree. End with one of two fall desserts: cinnamon pecan bread pudding or s'mores cheesecake.

Coco Bolos Wood Fired Grill

Fresh Mexican and seafood served up in Overland Park. Coco Bolos has dinner options for one or two. If you go with the shared menu, enjoy an app and dessert to share and pick your own entree. You could go all in and do a sampling of their street tacos. Pairs well with one of their house-made margs or sangria!

Manny's Mexican Restaurant

Manny's is stepping it up and includes drinks and desserts! Start with a sampler of dips before picking your own tacos. End the meal with some delicious sopapillas and mini pitcher of margs to share!

Mickey's Hideaway

A new, Westport hotspot, Mickey's is offering up a shared dinner — perfect to try out a few of their offerings! Pick an app, two entrees, and dessert to share! The Cadillac mac is a winner, but you can't go wrong with chicken and waffles.

Red Door Woodfired Grill

Red Door has options for one and two, with choices to please everyone. They offer a variety of entrees from steak and chicken dishes to their house enchiladas. You can also pick from a shared appetizer or individual soups or salads. Just be sure to leave room for dessert: double chocolate cake or warm beignets!

Stroud's (Overland Park)

Stroud's OP location is offering up a shared dinner from 3 p.m. to closing. Start with a shared appetizer before picking your own chicken noodle soup or salad. End with a dinner of choice (per person) that includes a choice of potato, green beans, and gravy.

Waldo Pizza

Waldo Pizza is offering up two options for their shared dinner, one that includes pasta and one that includes pizza. Both options include two adult beverages (Robert Mondavi wine or draft beer), a shared starter, and dessert. The tough choice comes when you have to pick either one 14 inch speciality pizza or two speciality pastas.
