I love to do something special for Valentine's Day dinner. While I have tons of favorite restaurants in Kansas City that I choose for my birthday or specials nights with friends I haven't seen in a while, I view Valentine's Day as a time to try something new with a prix fixe menu prepared by some of the best chefs in our community.
If you're like me and want to take the pressure off deciding what to order and just trust the pros this Valentine's Day, here are several restaurants offering magnificent menus that will impress both you and your date.
Café Provence
Come for a seasonally inspired, locally sourced four-course prix fixe menu—all for just $125 per person. Glasses of sparkling wine and amuse bouche are included.
Café Sebastienne
The evening will feature a special Valentine's Day fixed-price menu from 5:30–8:30 p.m. created by Chef Rick Mullins, including three courses priced at $55 per person. Purchase recommended wine pairings for an additional $20 per person or any of the Café’s wine, beer or cocktail selections at the listed price.
Chaz on the Plaza
With a passion for local, fresh food, the culinary team regularly features specials based on what is growing in the gardens or found at Kansas City farmers' markets. Enjoy the Valentine's Day four-course meal for $65 per person with an optional $30 wine pairing.
Gram + Dun
Enjoy the regular menu with Valentine's Day specials or the Valentine's prix fixe menu for $70 per person.
Kona Grill
Share "The Grand Kona for Two" with your sweetheart. The meal costs $90 per couple and includes two glasses of bubbles with the meal.
Providence New American Kitchen
Love is on the menu at Providence New American Kitchen. The three-course menu costs $34.99 per person and comes with two glasses of complimentary Champagne for you and your special someone.
Story
Enjoy five delicious courses from Chef Carl Thorne-Thomsen in one of Kansas City's most unique spaces. The meal costs $125 per person with optional wine pairings for $65.
Tannin Wine Bar + Kitchen
With an incredible dinner menu, romantic ambiance and, of course, an incredible selection of Champagne and sparkling wine, Tannin is the place to be this Valentine’s Day. The three-course meal is $65 per guest with optional wine pairings of $35 for half glasses and $70 for full glasses.
Have a fun night, tell your loved ones how special they are to you and remember to love yourself just as much. Happy Valentine's Day! Share your pictures with me on Instagram and let me know where you end up dining.
