Your child runs out and grabs 30 eggs at the local Easter egg hunt and all you can think is, “How am I going to once again, avoid all this candy?!

I am going to guess the Halloween and Christmas treats just dwindled down and now you are scared to be back to square one… holding onto willpower every evening after dinner when the chocolate bunny is staring at you!

As a Registered Dietitian who helps clients lose weight and improve their metabolism, I am telling you… just eat the candy!

But wait, I thought you said you were a Dietitian?!

Hear me out… If there is 1 thing I’ve learned after coaching hundreds of chronic dieters, it’s that restriction does not work.

Restriction of any foods, or food groups, leads us to never ending thoughts about the restricted items, wanting to binge it when it is around us, and cravings beyond our control!

But, do you know what does work? Balancing your plate!

When you balance your plate with carbohydrates, protein, fat, and veggies we get fullness after meals times, less cravings, more energy, and better overall health.

So my tip for you this Easter holiday is this:

If you want to have a couple pieces of candy for dessert, then just balance it into your plate! Make your plate at dinner 1/2 protein, 1/2 veggies, with a bit of fat and skip or go easy on the carbohydrates (potatoes, rice, pastas, bread) and save them for your candy bar!

Try it! Just a small tweak can make such a difference!

If you are looking to transform your mindset for good, I recommend checking out my Gray30 course HERE. This program will teach you how to accommodate memorable moments without sacrificing your progress.
