Good-quality, healthy food should be affordable and convenient for everyone. There’s no need to settle just for convenience or price, right? Well, Grub Fresh Bowls & Wraps is a new restaurant concept that will become your go-to spot for great-tasting, filling and healthy foods.
Grub, which recently opened in Hapeville near Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, was founded by Philip Jones, and his mission is food and health. He has owned four Smoothie King franchises in the past 12 years, and he is now focusing on Grub. He plans to open five more franchises in metro Atlanta.
Fresh Food. Fast!
Jones worked with Chef Kelley Hicks, who has almost 20 years of industry experience. Cooking since she was a child, she studied at Le Cordon Bleu, and her experience includes stints on The Food Network and working in five-star hotels, catering, fine dining and with celebrity private chef services. Together, Jones and Hicks created non-traditional bowl and wrap options that change seasonally. In addition, all the food is made in-house, from scratch with fresh ingredients.
“I created Grub because I would spend hours looking for something quick and healthy to eat,” says Philip Jones, Grub Fresh Bowls & Wraps founder. “The lack of options made it challenging to maintain a healthy lifestyle while working such a busy schedule. After years of frustration, I decided to recruit a classically trained chef to help me take my passionate idea and create a solution that left me feeling satisfied and recharged.”
What we particularly like was that you could tell the ingredients were fresh. The shrimp in the fajita bowl were firm (don’t you hate soggy shrimp that’s seen better days?) and the pepper and lettuce were brightly colored and crisp.
For those who are vegetarian, it’s not a problem. Simply omit one or two items and substitute in more vegetable options. A vegan menu will debut in the next six months.
Wraps + Salads
Patrons who visit Grub can enjoy a great variety of bowls and wraps. Guests can choose jasmine rice, brown rice and/or a flatbread wrap to accompany any menu item including: Jerk Chicken Bowl (sautéed peppers and onions, pineapple salsa, mango jerk sauce, shaved lettuce); Sweet and Spicy Salmon Bowl (edamame, shredded cabbage, green onions, sesame seeds, sweet chili, hericot vert); Fajita Shrimp Bowl (spiced shrimp, pico de gallo, sautéed peppers and onions, shaved lettuce and cotija jack); Southwest Bowl (pico de gallo, black beans, roasted corn, green onions and cilantro, shaved lettuce); Philly Cheesesteak Wrap; Buffalo Chicken Wrap and Grilled Veggie Wrap with spicy harissa.
These healthy options are really a bargain with the prices a pocketbook-friendly range of $9.99 to $11.99.
You may wonder what is being done for safety! Here is what you can count on and expect. When visiting Grub, your experience and safety will be taken seriously, such as team members receiving temperature screenings upon arrival, wearing protective gear, constant sanitizing and, of course, following social distancing guidelines. The eatery even offers contactless pickups and delivery options. Currently, Grub offers outdoor seating, grab-and-go and delivery.
Grub is a new concept that is going to take off big time, and when the concept is a casual restaurant with healthy, fresh and reasonable food, call us a fan.
