Sixx Cool Moms and Celebree School of North Potomac brought a free, feel-good afternoon this spring — and it was exactly the kind of event our community deserves.

There's a certain magic that happens when a community gathers not because they have to, but because they genuinely want to. No gimmicks. No overpriced tickets. No complicated itineraries. Just families, food, music, and the rare gift of a Saturday afternoon that felt easy.

That's exactly what Eat. Play. Vibe. delivered.

The inaugural event kicked off in May 2026, transforming Celebree School of North Potomac into the backdrop for one of the most anticipated free family events in the DMV this spring. Created by Sixx Cool Moms — the rapidly growing platform connecting mothers across the region through curated events and trusted local partnerships — Eat. Play. Vibe. was part food truck festival, part artisan market, part community love letter. It was the kind of afternoon worth putting in the family photo album.

Where the Food Trucks Were, the People Followed

Let's be honest: the food trucks alone were reason enough to show up.

Eat. Play. Vibe. brought together a mouthwatering lineup of local favorites, each one handpicked to reflect the rich culinary diversity of the DMV:

  • Basa Bites — The event's co-creator and a community staple, serving up bold, globally inspired flavors that kept locals coming back for more.

  • Desi Cravingz — Brought the warm, aromatic spices of South Asian street food to a crowd that absolutely deserved it.

  • Rice Around the World — Took one beloved ingredient and turned it into a globe-trotting culinary adventure, one dish at a time.

  • Cafecito — Coffee and Latin-inspired sips that made a spring afternoon feel like a mini-vacation.

  • Flossy Candy — Pure joy in spun-sugar form, and the undisputed star of every kid's afternoon (and more than a few adults').

  • In The Raw With Soul Catering — Soulful, from-the-heart cooking that offered wholesome, intentional food, nourishing as much as it satisfied.

This wasn't a parking lot lineup — it was a curated culinary experience designed to keep families grazing, exploring, and going back for one more plate all afternoon long.

Celebree School: More Than a Backdrop

The choice of venue was no accident. Celebree School of North Potomac is a trusted name in early childhood education across the DMV, built on the belief that learning begins the moment a child enters the world. As both a presenting sponsor and host campus, Celebree brought more than a location to the table — they brought a shared commitment to investing in families and creating environments where children thrive.

Opening their campus for Eat. Play. Vibe. extended that mission beyond the classroom, creating a welcoming, child-centered space where families could relax, explore, and connect in a setting that already felt like home.

Community Partners Who Showed Up

Events like this don't happen without people who believe in the mission. Eat. Play. Vibe. was made possible by sponsors who understand that investing in community is investing in something that lasts.

Campos Financial Group brought its commitment to empowering families financially to an event all about empowering families experientially — a natural fit for a firm that understands the real lives of the people it serves. Bach to Rock Gaithersburg, the region's premier music education school, rounded out the sponsor family with an energy that spoke directly to the creative, curious kids and parents who make up the Sixx Cool Moms community. And Basa Bites, wearing the dual hat of food truck vendor and founding sponsor, exemplified what it looks like when a local business puts its heart where its community is.

These weren't just logos on a banner. They were neighbors, showing up.

More Than an Afternoon — A Movement

Here's what set Eat. Play. Vibe. apart from the dozens of "family-friendly" events crowding spring calendars: it was designed to do more than entertain. It was designed to connect.

Sixx Cool Moms founder Jenna Levine Liu said it best: "This isn't just another event where you walk around and leave. We're intentional about creating experiences where families can actually settle in, connect, and enjoy their time."

That intentionality showed up in every detail — from kids' activities running on-site throughout the afternoon, to an artisan market spotlighting small businesses and local makers who deserved more than a scroll-past. This was the kind of event that reminded people why they choose to raise their families in this community.

Give a Little, Change a Lot

Amid all the fun, Eat. Play. Vibe. also held space for something deeper. The Personal Care Foundation was on-site collecting donations of children's toothpaste and shower gel or bubble bath to support survivors of domestic violence and their children. These everyday essentials help restore dignity and a sense of normalcy to families navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives.

One small act quietly said: we see you, and we care.

Why Families Showed Up

In a season full of events competing for families' attention and household budgets, Eat. Play. Vibe. stood apart for one simple reason: it asked nothing of attendees except to show up.

Admission was completely free. Incredible local food vendors were ready to feed the community. There was music, open space, kids' activities, and a gathering of DMV families who didn't just follow Sixx Cool Moms online — they showed up in real life, exactly like this.

The inaugural event proved something important: families are still craving genuine community connection, and when an event is built with intention, people feel it.
