While many service companies in Austin have been — and continue to be — acquired by large statewide or national groups or private equity investors, Efficient AC, Electric & Plumbing remains a proud exception. The company has been 100% locally owned since its founding in 1976.
“As a family-owned and oriented company, it is important to us to know both our customers and our employees – and what their individual needs are – so we can strive to meet them,” said George Drazic, who owns and runs Efficient with his wife, Molly. The Drazics are longtime members of the Austin community who attended UT and raised their family here.
Efficient specializes in residential and commercial HVAC, electrical and plumbing service – including maintenance, repairs, installations and remodels – and was recently voted a 2024 Neighborhood Fave on Nextdoor.com.
In addition to providing service and meaningful employment opportunities, Efficient also positively contributes to the community through local nonprofits. This includes a partnership with Skillpoint Alliance, which helps prepare individuals for careers in the trades. Some Skillpoint graduates later join Efficient’s team, reinforcing the company's belief in fostering local talent and community growth.
Efficient also supports Foundation Communities, focused on providing affordable housing and support services; The Christi Center, focused on providing free, ongoing grief support to Central Texans; The National Association of Women in Construction, focused on providing development opportunities to women in the industry; as well as other groups, efforts and individuals in need in Austin throughout the year.
