Born and raised in Houston, owner Sammy Khatib grew up in the flooring business. Working alongside family members set the course for Sammy's professional career to be the owner of his own flooring company.
Seven years ago, Sammy moved to the Dallas area and, with his cousin, opened up a flooring store in Plano. He then decided to expand the business to the McKinney area seven months ago.
Conveniently located in the Kroger plaza at the corner of Eldorado Parkway and Lake Forest, Elegant Floors specializes in flooring, kitchen countertops, and cabinets, as well as bathroom remodels.
Elegant Floors offers a variety of flooring options, including solid and engineered wood, laminate, tile, carpet, and vinyl.
Sammy is personally committed to partnering with his clients to create a custom design they are thrilled with. Using a combination of in-home and in-store visits, Sammy works to understand his client's unique style and tastes before he ever puts a plan on paper.

The design process is critical, and Sammy doesn't limit the amount of time a customer needs to make sure the agreed-upon design is precisely what the customer wants. The process can take up to 3 weeks if necessary to ensure a design that encompasses the customer's personal style and needs. Once a custom design is created, there is no obligation for the customer to make a purchase.
Sammy says that one of the biggest challenges of operating his business is the coordination of multi-disciplinary construction crews. Ensuring that everyone is on time and doing what needs to be done on the job site is a big responsibility and requires close management and oversight.
To overcome the challenge of coordinating and managing several crews, Sammy is in regular communication with his customers and the work teams by phone and through every-other-day on-site visits. Especially on the larger construction projects, when 4-5 work crews are scheduled at a time, Sammy pays close attention to the details. He works diligently to ensure that his customers are comfortable with the process and the construction crews that are in their homes. He says that he knows his customers have placed their trust in him. His goal is to deliver on his promise of close supervision, and quality craftsmanship for an outcome that will delight his customers.
When asked what he enjoys the most about owning his own business, Sammy said, "The end result." He likes taking pictures of completed projects and how happy his customers are at the end of the process.
