Cocktail:
Rosemary Grapefruit Spritz
2 ounces gin or vodka
3 ounces grapefruit juice
1 ounce rosemary simple syrup
In your shaker, shake ingredients together with ice, strain into a glass with fresh ice. Top with prosecco or club soda.
Rosemary simple syrup:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 fresh rosemary sprigs
In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and sprigs. Bring to a boil and simmer until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Allow mixture to cool and remove rosemary. Store in refrigerator in an airtight container for up to a month.
Boston Shaker or Cobbler Shaker:
A Boston shaker is a two-piece cocktail shaker consisting of a glass and a metal tin. You’ll often see this type used in bars due to its ease of use. A cobbler shaker is an all-in-one solution consisting of three parts: a metal tin, cap, and built-in strainer. Both types of shaker are beneficial as they aerate, incorporate, and properly chill your drink.
Muddler:
A muddler is a bartender's tool used like a pestle to mash—or muddle—fruits, herbs, and spices in the bottom of a glass to release their flavor.
Jigger:
A jigger is a common bar essential that acts as a cocktail measuring cup. Jiggers are dual-sided and help bartenders avoid over-pouring and remain consistent when crafting cocktails.
Strainer:
Hawthorne strainers and conical mesh strainers are used to prevent pieces of ice (or bits of citrus or other fruit) from getting into your drink, which makes for a smoother drink.
