What inspires you to get involved with your community?

Volunteering for Feeding 500 allows me to interact directly with the Darien community through events and food drives, and then I get to see the immediate impact our donations make on the community in Norwalk that Open Doors is supporting. Feeding 500 started with one goal—raise enough money to feed five hundred people a year, or around $1,250. Since its founding in 2021 through New Canaan High School, Feeding 500 has raised over $200,000 across all towns involved, and fed over 80,000 people.

What clubs and organizations do you belong to?

I’m vice president of the National English Honors Society at DHS. Our society spreads a passion for English through peer tutoring and events, like our annual Spooky Story Contest. I’ve loved English since I was very young, so I’m so glad that I’ve been able to maintain and spread that love through NEHS during my high school career. I’m also one of the captains of the squash team. I joined the team my sophomore year, and I’ve met such sweet people. I’m sad to be leaving, but I’m excited to have one last season with them.

What is your favorite part about living in the Darien area?

My favorite part about living in Darien has always been the beach! I’m so grateful I grew up within walking distance from such a beautiful view of the Sound. My favorite places to visit in Darien are UCBC and Barrett Bookstore!

Any inspiration or advice?

Always find something you’re passionate about! Whether it’s volunteer work, a class you’re taking, or a sport, having something you’re passionate about to consistently work on makes life much more interesting and enjoyable.
