It started as a grass roots effort, “to help every child, to help every family, to find loving homes for all these children that need help.”
Their mission? Provide a stable, loving home for every child.
Embrace, at its core connects willing hands with opportunities to help children, families and out community as a whole. Embrace connects willing hands with opportunities to serve children in foster, adoptive and kinship care.
“And it may not be the same way for everyone”, says Denise Kendrick, Executive Director of Embrace Texas.
She explains their goal, their mission, their vision, “We provide a safe and stable home for every child. We provide direct services to children and families in Collin County, Texas. In addition to our local efforts, we create best practices for programs solving issues in child welfare, then equip individuals, churches and organizations across the United States to develop and sustain ministries of their own,” Kendrick explains.
She continues, understanding that, “Not all are called to serve as foster or adopted children but all are called to serve.”
Embrace proudly serves foster and adoptive families licensed with any child placing agency, at-risk children and their caregivers, kinship care providers, and foster care alumni. While our primary focus is Collin County, we serve families across North Texas.
A majority of our clients are low-income children and families, and their caregivers. Most of our services and programs are provided at no cost, low-cost, or with the possibility of scholarship based on need.
Foster parents can face a difficult and lonely journey without support. Embrace changes all that. No more disconnection, no more isolation or feeling alone. Family is the core of their mission. Directed at caregivers, Embrace focuses on the entire family unit. Offering families more tools, more resources, more opportunities, ongoing training, retreats, and accessible family outings. Everything takes place in the context of the family.

In whatever way you and our community need help, we are here to serve you .
“Excellence in all things and all things to the Glory of God” remains their foundation.
