Revved Up Kids Leads the Charge Against Child Exploitation

In the heart of North Fulton, a transformative initiative is taking root, aiming to shield children and teens from the perils of sexual abuse, exploitation, and trafficking. Revved Up Kids, a nonprofit organization founded in 2014 by Alli Neal and her husband David, stands as a beacon of hope and education in the community.

The inception of Revved Up Kids was, as Alli describes, "nothing less than a clear call from God during a point of transition in our life." With no prior knowledge of the issue, Neal embarked on a journey of self-education and dedication, leading to the development of comprehensive sexual abuse prevention training programs for children when none existed in Atlanta. “From my comfortable, safe suburban home in North Fulton, I was astounded to learn about the prevalence of child sexual abuse, and to learn that it was happening to children in my own back yard,” said Neal, “God called me to this purpose, and once my eyes were opened I couldn’t turn away. One thing we should all be able to agree upon is that even one child is one too many.”

Revved Up Kids distinguishes itself as the only Atlanta-based nonprofit solely focused on the prevention of child sexual abuse. Revved Up Kids offers an array of program formats that equip children and teens to recognize and respond to unsafe people, dangerous situations, and equip adults to be better protectors. Their evidence-based and evidence-informed training programs are highly acclaimed by educators, physicians, mental health experts, public safety officials, and parents.

A significant aspect of Revved Up Kids' approach is its commitment to accessibility. Recognizing that financial constraints should not hinder a child's right to safety education, the organization operates on a model where, for every group that pays for training, another receives it free of charge. In Roswell, training partnerships with the YMCA, STAR House Foundation, the Drake House and the Roswell Police have ensured that children in some of the highest need neighborhoods have been able to receive this vital training at no charge.

The impact of Revved Up Kids is tangible. Children and teens have avoided and escaped attacks as a result of their training, and some have disclosed sexual abuse, leading to timely interventions. Neal emphasizes the importance of these outcomes, stating, "Children are being saved from their abusers as a result of our training... when we remove fear, they are emboldened to disclose."

Revved Up Kids offers an opportunity to be part of a movement that prioritizes the safety and well-being of the community's youth. Whether through hosting training programs, volunteering, or donating, your involvement is crucial.
