Escape to Grapevine

A premier staycation experience is closer than you think.

GRAPEVINE- Grapevine has long been Fort Worth's fun, eccentric sister that loves a theme. The city is gaining a reputation as a great place to get lost, becoming a thriving tourist destination and premier hotel location. So, what would an escape to Grapevine look like for a Fort Worth couple ready to ditch Cowtown for something not so far from home? To find out, Hotel Vin, a 120-room boutique hotel in the heart of historic Grapevine, opens their doors to demonstrate the perfect luxury getaway that is closer than you think.

Managed by Coury Hospitality, Hotel Vin, Autograph Collection is a stunning hotel delivering best-in-class hospitality and unique culinary experiences with attentive service and wine-focused menus.

Paying homage to the region, Hotel Vin boasts an extensive wine program highlighted by national and international wines. Explore the wine in a private wine room at the hotel to learn about the many varietals offered, or head out to WineYard, a stunning outdoor venue that plays host to live music and delicious meals from WineYard Grille + Bar.

And enjoy the wine with an eclectic dish in the expansive European-style food hall, Harvest Hall, connected to the hotel and featuring seven kitchens serving various cuisines, two bars, a coffee shop, a market, and a listening room-style venue for live entertainment.

The chef-driven restaurants in the hall include:

Arepa TX: a fast-casual restaurant inspired by the flavors of South America and Mexico. The eatery specializes in arepas, made from scratch in small batches and prepared to order. Patrons can also enjoy tacos, empanadas, and rice bowls.

Dock Local serves up coastal cuisine including Maine lobster rolls, fish and chips, regional shrimp and many other seafood delights.

Firebawks Hot Chicken is an all-new hot chicken concept that specializes in no non-sense, crispy, tasty fried chicken dishes, and was born out of a fiery passion for good food and a desire to bring something new to DFW’s hot chicken scene from ZaTaR Mediterranean founder Niddal Abedrabbo.

Pizza by Luigi is a scratch-made, seasonally inspired Italian concept from Luigi and Fabiana Iannuario. Pizza by Luigi features a unique style of pizza, combining Roman and Neapolitan recipes as well as generational recipes reminiscent of Iannuario’s childhood in Milan.

Main Line Coffee Bar features craft coffee drinks and locally-sourced pastries and Latin-inspired ice cream. Guests can indulge in everything from classic lattes to boozy coffee and milkshake offerings.

Monkey King Noodle Co. showcases Northern Chinese street food with its own twist on popular dishes. The dining experience mimics those in the night markets of China and Taiwan.

ZaTaR serves original family recipes passed down from generation to generation. Chefs make Mediterranean dishes from the highest quality ingredients, including juicy lamb kabobs, assorted hummus dips, Jerusalem falafels, zatar pies, and shawarma on a spit.

For something more intimate, couples can grab handcrafted cocktails at the Bacchus Kitchen + Bar, named after the Roman god of wine, overlooking the historic Main Street train station and vintage railroad.

And the hotel is within walking distance of the nearby dining district and downtown shopping.

After dinner, the same couple can slip into the hotel’s hidden speakeasy, Magnum, for a nightcap in the intimate, moody interior, crystal chandelier, and sensual setting. The hotel tucked Magnum behind a phone booth in the lobby. An 18-seat venue offering exclusive cocktails, with seasonally rotating drinks to make each experience unique.

Once inside, guests can indulge in over-the-top libations, like the Gold Fashioned, featuring Maker’s Mark Cask Strength Bourbon, Liquor 43, cocoa bitters, and gold, or the venue’s signature cocktail, the Magnum Margarita. Magnum also features a ripples machine, allowing guests to add an image, text, or a design to the foam on their cocktail for a truly memorable experience. Not in the mood for anything on the cocktail list? Ask for Dealer's Choice and let the expert bartenders prepare a unique cocktail based on your favorite flavors and spirits.

The creative force behind the cocktails is Nicole Haarklau, director of food & beverage at Hotel Vin. Nicole works with the bartenders to create inventive, seasonally inspired sips that keep guests coming back time and again.

As the night winds down, the couple makes their way to their room, opening the door to one of the 4-star guest rooms at the hotel. The rooms adhere to a warm color palette of orange, tan, and rust. And guests choose from two double queens, king, or executive king-sized mattresses, inviting clouds of fluffy white. Pets are welcome for those wanting to bring a furry companion, and room service, dry cleaning, and daily housekeeping is standard. For those wanting an upgrade, there are also several suites to choose from and one Presidential suite. For tech-savvy guests, check out Enseo, software allowing guests to customize their in-room entertainment experience from their smartphones.

Grapevine proves a must-see DFW locale, whether couples and families seek a staycation or are out-of-towners ready to soak in the region's most accommodating city.
