Everyone's Wilson

Making an impact where we live

I met with Daryl who recently stepped into the role of Executive Director of Everyone’s Wilson to find out what   they're doing in the local community. I found out he launched Everyone's Wilson to help local churches build collaborative networks to pursue the wholeness of their community. With a track record of community experience, it is Daryl’s hope to inspire, equip, and empower local bodies to plant their life in their community, pray for their community, and to pursue the peace of their community. He is now leading over 40 churches, dozens of nonprofits, business leaders, and government entities in a unified effort to better the lives of the less fortunate in our community.

Instead of just asking, “How’s our church doing?” I began asking, “How’s our city doing?” Are there fewer broken people, hungry people, addicted people, despairing people in our city now than there were three or five or ten years ago? What can we do to move the needle in our city, or in our case, our county, over the next decade to bring transforming help and wholeness?

From those questions came four main initiatives. Everyone fed, Everyone free, Everyone safe and Everyone ready. Through partnering with other established organizations their goal is to see a community transformed regardless of race, religion or political affiliation. To serve those that need it and be a light to others. Who knows? Maybe what they're doing here in Wilson County will spread to other communities and we can see a nation committed to making a difference in the lives of everyone.
