Friends Zachary Reece and Frank Saldivar took an unconventional route to start their company, Exclusive Pool & Patio. After moving to the DFW area as specialists in the elevator construction and installation business, they quickly realized that they wanted to own their own business and work for themselves. In 2016, both had settled in the Light Farms Area and started looking around at what their neighbors were installing. They found construction has many of the same disciplines regardless of whether you are building and installing an elevator or a pool and patio. But to develop a list of suppliers and learn the trade they needed experience.
Over six months Zac and Frank built three pools, including one in Zac's backyard. Along the way, they collected a solid list of suppliers and subcontractors, as well as started to build the framework to give quotes built on experience. Many of those initial suppliers are still with them today.
They have a unique business model for the pool and patio industry. Their goal is to keep the business small but offer full service. They aim to transform about 50 backyards a year by installing high-quality custom pools, integrated patios, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, irrigation, and landscaping. When Exclusive Pool & Patio leave your backyard, they want you to be ready to host your first outdoor event.
In spring 2023, Zac and Frank will open the next step in their business plan. They will be launching a new pool showroom and grill shop offering a full range of design services and unique products in grills and outdoor kitchens. Zac has a passion for grilling and smoking meats and is excited to offer his own brand of Triple R Rubs and Sauces as part of the new store.
