Dr. Josh Bell of Caliber Wellness
What is your occupation? What is your specialty?
I'm a Chiropractor and owner of Caliber Wellness off of Pine Ridge Road in Naples. We also invest in real estate in addition to coaching and training other chiropractors. We get to the root cause of issues through functional bloodwork, neurological testing, chiropractic work, piezowave shockwave therapy, supplements, weight loss, cryotherapy and red light therapy. We are an all in one wellness center.
How has technology affected your business?
Technology has allowed us to reach more people with our message, telemedicine allows us to do consultations virtually in the states we are licensed in for functional medicine and functional blood work, tech allows us to learn more about the new research coming out so we can stay ahead with the best testing and treatments available. With technology we can also test the nervous system better than ever with the type of neurologically based corrective chiropractic care we do. It also aids in healing with our red light system and also helps with our weight loss programs to stay in touch with our patients and track their progress as they travel around the world. Technology also allows for much more customization based on the additional data we can get from more advanced testing and labs.
How do you prioritize self-care to ensure you maintain optimal well-being and peak performance, including adequate rest and overall health?
I used to say I'll sleep and rest when I'm dead. That mindset is not great in the long run! Using a smart watch allows me to track my sleep, blood oxygen levels etc so we can get into a better daily rythm and make sure we are getting enough REM sleep. Our functional medicine labs help detect issues that traditional labs do not and allow me to course correct before there is an issue. Sometimes in addition to our basic Caliber wellness supplement regimen, I take some ashwaganda which is an herb that reduces stress without any negative side effects to the body.

Sabrina Arguelles of Nuesana
What is your occupation?
Autonomous Nurse Practitioner and owner of Nuesana. We are a primary care and health and wellness practice that offers telemedicine and concierge in-person appointments in the comfort of your home, business, or our mobile clinic. In addition, we offer a variety of health and wellness services to improve your overall quality of life.
What’s the “next big thing” as it relates to health and wellness?
I would say genetic testing is becoming the up and coming way to be able to locate any genetic mutations in your DNA that are associated with elevated homocysteine levels, impaired methylation process, and limited detoxification of cells. Early treatment can help reduce certain chronic diseases like cardiovascular and neurodegenerative disorders, prevent accelerated aging, improve impaired gene-regulation, and poor drug clearance. This up-and-coming genetic methylation pathway testing provides detailed insight to treat patients for potential deficiencies and prevention of future diseases, to help provide a more personalized protocol based on their results.
If you could change something about your industry, what would you change?
The healthcare industry is very broken in where treatment is not about the patient and preventative care, but more about coding for insurance purposes and insurance coverage. The healthcare industry in general also does not focus on finding the root cause of the problem and work towards preventative care, instead they put a bandaid on the issue with medication. This is why with Nuesana I work closely with patients on health and wellness to instill preventative health care in patients.
On a day to day basis, how do you practice healthy habits?
I start my mornings with 30 minutes prayer and meditation followed by a 30-45 minute walk with my dogs, as well as taking all of my vitamins and supplements my body needs. I stay hydrated throughout the day, exercising for at least 30 minutes a day 4-5 times a week, and during the week I try to cook at home to maintain a healthy diet.
Chad Rodgers of Show Me Strength
How did you wind up in Naples?
I finished my career as a professional baseball player in 2013 with the Minnesota Twins. Their headquarters is in Fort Myers, so with that along with having my family down here already, I decided to rebuild my life in this area.
What is your occupation?
I am a gym owner and strength & conditioning coach.
Who is a leader in your industry that you admire?
Probably my mentor Eric Cressey. He owns two massively successful gyms, and was my strength coach throughout most of my career as a baseball player. Despite his success, he’s always pursuing ways to improve the outcomes of his students. This means continuing his education and learning to become better each chance he can. To this day, he is the most driven individual I’ve ever come across in our industry. I’m proud to have learned alongside him.
What is the most challenging part of your occupation?
Dealing with multiple personalities and discovering what motivates people individually. Everyone is driven by different factors, therefore the approach needs to be curated to uniquely match individuals where they are in life.
What is your favorite part of your occupation?
Seeing people’s confidence come back because their health has done a total 180. There’s nothing better than knowing you’ve changed someone’s life forever through implementing your knowledge and skill set with them. Strength is truly worth its weight in gold as we age.
What motivates you in life?
The daily pursuit to improve is what drives me. I like the phrase, “Kill your clone.” What this means is you’re trying to beat yesterday‘s version of yourself every time you wake up. This means physically, in my business, or in my relationships, each day I’m trying to be just a little better than yesterday.
