The Prosper Community Library opened on July 28, 2018, at 200 South Main St. Prior to that, the library was located from 1999-2018 at 700 North Coleman Road in the original Prosper High School facility.
Earlier this year, community discussions were hosted regarding the future of Prosper’s Library, which could include building a larger facility. Prosper town councilmembers reviewed the library’s master plan, a multi-volume document. The master plan represented a holistic look at the library’s offerings, spacing needs and community engagement. It was created by an architectural firm, 720 design. Officials indicated they would need to see more options and next steps before they ask residents to approve funding for a project.
At press time, town officials were considering a potential November bond to build a new facility in the coming years to better meet the needs of the rapidly growing town.
