Are you like me—always looking at ways to become better at whatever you’re doing? Work, personal, family, relationships—everything circles back to knowing yourself and reaching out further. It’s called self-exploration; if you haven't looked it up before, I did it for you. Self-exploration is the practice of examining your own thoughts, feelings, values, beliefs, identity, background, views and emotions with the purpose of better understanding yourself. You might engage in self-exploration for self-improvement, as part of therapy, out of curiosity or for its own sake. This is something I do quite frequently, checking in to see what I can do better or what I learned or didn’t learn from various situations—do you do this too?
If you're reading this right now, then it's a perfect time for you to check in with yourself and reflect on what's working and what's not. There's no time like the present to do a self-check in, so here are some tips to guide your reflection:
· Consider how we explore ourselves. Start by visualizing your ideal self.
· Explore your many options and what you’re truly passionate about.
· Try something new.
· Think about what you are good at or what comes easily to you.
· Evaluate your skills: What are your best skills and what makes you shine?
· Identify what you value about yourself.
· Ask yourself questions.
· Learn something new.
· Keep a journal.
These are all ways to help you do a self-check in. Remember, this is your race of life, so don’t play the comparison game or be critical of yourself; love on yourself and just see where you can raise your vibration and your ability to live your best life.
