As we scroll through social media or flip on a streaming service, we are inundated with images of people our own age who certainly do not look it. They look much younger. While aesthetic procedures were once reserved for celebrities, they are now available to all of us. Whether an executive looking to remain youthful in the boardroom, a soccer parent who wants to look refreshed on the sidelines, or simply someone who is acutely aware of their own visage over Zoom meetings, Vively Body Science has seen it all and more.
Owners of Vively Body Science Dr. Josh Martini and Dr. Laurel Martini have created a place fusing the medical and cosmetic worlds. With Josh, an anesthesiologist, and Laurel, a trauma surgeon, Vively is rather unique in the med spa space. To have on-site physician involvement is rare. And that is what sets them apart: a collective extensive background in medicine that allows clients to trust who is treating them and feel as though they are getting the best care possible.
Laurel and Josh started Vively after witnessing firsthand the effects of stress and poor personal health on individuals’ ability to heal, optimally perform, and feel their best. Opening their own med spa would allow them to help others in the Twin Cities avoid unhealthy life choices and increase personal confidence. It was then that Vively was born.
While not all aesthetic procedures are performed by Josh and Laurel, they are always involved in the decision-making process and treatment planning, collaborating with their clients to determine the best treatment for them. ““There is almost always another treatment you can do, or area to address, but we focus on what brings them in and what is most important to them,” says Josh.
Some people come for the popular HydraFacial, or a BBL treatment to address signs of aging as well as brown and red pigment issues. Botox and injectable treatments are popular as well, while other clients elect to have body contouring. Some offerings feel good and some are centered on making you look good, which naturally leads to feeling good.
When it comes to who the Vively team treats, there’s no particular demographic. Elizabeth Anderson, an Advanced Practice Aesthetician at the med spa, says she treats a wide variety of ages. “We are seeing more and more clients who are interested in seeking preventative treatments. Both women and men.”
When I visited Vively, I was treated to a VISIA consultation. All clients at Vively have a VISIA consultation that assesses the current status of their skin with regards to tone, texture, wrinkles, pore size, and sun damage. It can also give a window into your future skin. Spoiler alert: I’m going to look exactly like my grandmother if I do nothing. And more rapidly than I'm comfortable with. The assessment helps the team at Vively determine the best course of action for each client and helps the client see what is going on beneath the surface.
Laurel says the most important element in the process is consultation and treatment planning. “We have the top equipment in the industry, medical grade skin care products, and the best staff to tailor everything with excellent customer service in mind. We have spent a great amount of time researching the very best in the business, but if it’s not appropriate for someone, we don’t do it.”
Beyond skin, Vively also offers IV infusions to work on the internal as well as the external. Clients come for infusions before and after travel, to enhance athletic performance, and just get a fluid boost. Emerging after this long winter, we all would likely benefit from some internal and external hydration. The med spa also now offers Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) to regain hormonal balance in the body. BHRT is when a client is given hormones because the ones their body produces are out of balance. It’s customized to address specific symptoms and desired outcomes for each individual.
Vively is all about improvement and not perfection. Many clients visit Vively for self-care and wanting to feel good, not to perfect themselves. “We develop long-term relationships with people. We have subscription plans and significant discounts for ongoing programs,” shares Josh. Vively is a place that really gets to know their customers as they assist them in improving their overall wellness and shifts treatment plans as their needs change and evolve.
Vively Body Science has something for everyone, and it’s clear that Josh, Laurel, and their team aim to give their clients options. Together, they will not only help you explore options, but also help you explore YOU. Whether you’re looking to refresh your look, give your body a boost, or treat yourself to a facial, Vively wants to be a part of your wellness journey. After being in somewhat of a holding pattern for the past two years, perhaps it’s time for all of us to get out and explore some things that will make us look and feel rejuvenated in new ways.
